Reciprocity Fee

The holders of a valid Canadian passport do not require a visa to enter Argentina for tourism purposes. 

In accordance with Decree 1654/2008, the Reciprocity Fee was established for holders of a valid Canadian passport entering Argentina for tourism purposes and for holders of a valid Australian and United States of America passport entering Argentina for tourism or business purposes.

The payment of the Reciprocity Fee by individuals holding an Australian passport is valid for multiple entries and for a period of one (1) year (Regulation DNM 903/2014).

The Argentine National Immigration Agency (Dirección Nacional de Migraciones) informed though Disposition 589/2016, that the “Reciprocity Fee has been suspended for American Citizens who travel to Argentina for 90 days or until the derogation of the regulation“
This measure starts on March 24th 2016.
The new rule does not alter Visa charges or Reciprocity Fees for other countries.

Holders of Canadian passports are required to pay the Reciprocity Fee US$92.00 online (no other payment options) 4 or 5 days before departure. You must keep the electronic receipt since it must be shown to the airline company upon check-in and submitted to Immigration authorities upon arrival in Argentina. The receipt will be scanned by Immigration authorities and the data will be validated to enable entry to Argentina.

Payment of the Reciprocity Fee is valid for 10 years and for multiple entries until one month prior to the expiry date of your passport.  Therefore, make sure you keep the passport stamped by Immigration authorities and copies of your receipt for your entries.  Please note that dual nationals (Argentine/Canadian) are exempt, even when entering on a Canadian passport.

You may remain in the country for a period of up to 90 days, renewable in Argentina, at the Immigration Office, for a similar term of 90 days before the expiration date of the first period of 90 days.

Holders of a valid Canadian passport entering Argentina under a business, student or resident visa do not have to pay the Reciprocity Fee.

Argentine nationals who are Canadian citizens are not required to pay the Reciprocity Fee when travelling to Argentina with Canadian passport.
